Series
From idea to product
Feasibility, MVP, prototype, electronics, firmware, certification and small-batch production.
After this series you can:
- You decide after a small test whether your idea goes ahead, gets adjusted or stops.
- You name what a device needs before it goes into a batch, and in which order.
- You record which files are yours and what your product needs after the launch.

What this series does not cover
- Which manufacturer or assembly partner to choose.
- What a product or a batch costs in euros.
- Writing firmware; that is in the series 'Embedded and IoT'.
Terms
- MVP
- The smallest version real customers can use, built with the care of a final product.
- hardware prototype
- A first working unit from existing parts, tested where the device will really work.
- circuit board
- Your device's own board, designed for where it hangs, with source files you own.
- edge AI
- A small model running on the device itself, deciding there without sending images out.
- CE marking
- Your own declaration as manufacturer that the device meets the European directives that apply.
- second source
- An alternative for a critical part that fits without changing the board, recorded in advance.
- product lifecycle
- Keeping a product working after launch: updates, replacement parts and a clean phase-out.
