Are you moving to PayPal 4.1.0 or dropping PayPal for one gateway ?

We've received word (since June, actually) that PayPal Standard is to be sunset.

I have it in my shop, and I'm still taking roughly one-fifth of my orders through that system. (My mistake, not noticing the warning.)

Anyway, moving or not? You going to try and go to PayPal 4.1.0 (the plugin) - or are you just going to switch to using one plugin to take it all (one-in-all)?

I switched to the PayPal Payments plugin back in the spring. The WooCommerce implementation took an afternoon: the pain point wasn't the plugin; but rather getting PayPal business account verification, which they still need you to go through.

Switching to non-PayPal won't help at all - not because it's bad or hard - but because users will abandon if it isn't there. I tried it for two weeks and conversion decreased.

you're missing out on one big point - when switching. You should upgrade your payment plugins and WooCommerce at the same time (as a single upgrade task). It's always best to batch these together if at all possible. (For the record, I've done multiple updates, with mixed results.)

I think that's the other thing you've missed - the WooCommerce 10.9.1 point release was needed for compatibility with older Stripe plugin versions.

(Incidentally - even I, as the developer, didn't know that was a thing until I ran into it recently.)

You mentioned that your orders dropped: are you saying this is because people are no longer using PayPal or simply that it looked a bit more barren without that checkout choice ?

I'm not really able to separate the two cleanly; but when I re-enabled, I saw a lot of return visitors who'd then used PayPal.

So they looked like PayPal users.

I'm going to migrate to 4.1.0 before the official cutoff.

And as for having two gateways?

I'll keep the second one alongside it.

As for being able to cleanly separate the two, well, let's be honest, I can't really say wich user came from where either.

Which is all to say that, even with my decision to migrate, I don't feel bad about having a second gateway, just in case PayPal is just not living up to all its promise and I need it.
