PayPal Standard is sunsetting.

I setup two client shops years ago which still use it. Plan to move both of those to PayPal 4.1.0 before the end of summer.

I need to check the email notifications.

Do you have any information on refunding via paypal standard?

If we switch gateways, will the orders that were paid via paypal standard be able to be refunded from the woocommerce order screen still or do you think we might have to refund through paypal or otherwise?

Would be good to know if someone please?

let me try to explain. We've had PayPal Standard for years...as i recall, it's been hidden in any new shop by default for many, many years at this point. The only ones currently running it are the ones i set up years ago.

i'm moving those to PayPal 4.1.0, mainly to connect the PayPal account in that new plugin.

Refunding i'll figure out after the fact. I don't know yet how the old Standard orders will work.

The main point of moving over is just connecting the paypal account in the new plugin.

Anyone else still finding Standard on old shops?

Instead of going through the motions of installing the entire plugin, drop PayPal completely - its pretty minor for most small shops - and use local methods & credit cards only.

That will depend on who's your target market. If it's international - they still order via PayPal. Removing this will mean missed conversions.

Do your shops ship abroad?

@Hidden_Panda I can check that easily: on my staging site, i test a refund on a past order... If the order screen doesn't let me, I'll have to make it up on the PayPal account.

Huge pain in the butt but will be necessary.

In testing mode, if I attempt the refund on the order page then look to paypal for the refund, do the two process together at all or is it separate?

Have since migrated 1 shop!

It is the flow to connect the PayPal account which is time consuming. The rest is simple: still using PayPal as 12% of orders on that site are PayPal orders so it is worthwhile for us to retain it.
