Customer order emails stopped after moving a shop to a VPS

Moved a client's dog harness shop from Combell shared to a self-managed VPS last week and now the customer emails are gone. Admin mails still arrive. The processing and completed mails to the buyer just never leave. i tested with a Bancontact order myself and got nothing and the Woo logs show nothing at all because there's no error to log. No SMTP plugin yet, it's plain PHP mail() on the box, which i figured was fine since the admin mail works! I went back to the Woo email settings and every one is enabled with a from address on the shop domain. Server stuff is new to me so if you need me to pull something say what. Thanks.

Where does the admin mail end up, is that a Gmail address? Im pretty sure that's what hides it, customers sit on all sorts of providers and plain mail() from a fresh VPS gets binned before it hits spam because the box has no reputation.

Super common: You'd have to put WP Mail SMTP on and send through a real mailbox, that fixed it for our shop on TransIP. Not 100% sure it's the same cause for you though.

Admin mail went to the client's own domain, so not that. Still put https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/ on with the shop mailbox and the WC customer mails arrive now, but you need to add SPF too or Gmail dumps them in spam anyway.
