WP All Import read an empty stock CSV as in stock

Client's shop, WP All Import nightly cron off the wholesaler's CSV. Last Friday's file had zero rows.

Log said completed, 0 records, everything left in stock - Monday, forty orders nobody can fill.

tell me how you catch an empty feed.

Had a smaller version of that once: the same empty file, a few orders instead of forty.

The Monday after was not fun.

This could've been caught.

An import should refuse a file that's empty or a lot smaller than the last one, and most import plugins I've used have some setting for exactly that.

Check any import plugin forum and it's always the same story: the option is there, nobody switches it on.

That's the part that gets me.

The safety net usually exists, it just sits off until somebody finds out about it the Monday after.

Switched on the empty-file check, and the import now caps stock at whatever the warehouse actually shows instead of leaving it untouched.

Refunded the forty orders and gave everyone a discount code.

Two of them have already come back and ordered again.
